With only a few days left until the opening of the new school year, the Rotaract Club of Bayombong of District 3770, in collaboration with its mother club, the Rotary Club of Bayombong, organized projects to schools in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya with the aim of assisting various programs of the Department of Education (DepEd) under the clubs’ area of focus on ‘Basic Education and Literacy.

Hope Creating President Jhon Edmar De Guzman lead the distribution of learning kits to 63 pupils of Bansing Elementary School in Brgy. Bansing, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya

In an endearing demonstration of kindness and goodwill, RAC and RC Bayombong, in partnership with TESDA Provincial Training Center- Nueva Vizcaya, organized a feeding project during the graduation ceremony of Nueva Vizcaya General Comprehensive High School’s (NVGCHS) National Learning Camp (NLC), held at the school gymnasium, Aug. 24, 2023.

The Rotary and Rotaract Clubs of Bayombong join hands with TESDA-PTC Nueva Vizcaya in organizing a feeding project that aims to recognize 400 learners and teachers’ accomplishment in completing the 25-day National Learning Camp during their graduation ceremony held at Nueva Vizcaya General Comprehensive High School gymnasium, Aug. 24, 2023

To recognize their accomplishments in completing the 25-day learning camp that was designed to address learning losses brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, about 400 learner and teacher-campers were provided with free snacks.

Meanwhile, in support of the Brigada Eskwela and Brigada Pagbasa of DepEd, RAC Bayombong, implemented its Project Creating Opportunities to fight Problems in Education (COPE) where 63 learners of Bansing Elementary School (BES) in Brgy. Bansing, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya, were given learning kits last August 26, 2023.

The said project aimed to handover learning kits to and other school needs to learners and teachers, especially those who belong to the last mile schools of the town.

One of the highlights of this year’s conduct of Project COPE was the launching of the ‘Books of Hope’ initiative which aimed to donate a collection of books to assist schools in their need for reading materials and workbooks and to revitalize the love for reading among learners.

The clubs believe that reading is a very significant part of a person’s life because it is where an individual acquires bountiful knowledge which he can use to lead his life to the fullest.

Over a thousand of books were successfully turned over to NVGCHS’ Reading Center, BES Library and Paima National High School Library in Brgy. Paitan, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.

The project has so far assisted roughly six schools, a thousand students, including some DepEd’s Alternative Learning System (ALS) students since its first year of implementation in 2021, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Rotary International shares the DepEd’s commitment to provide universal access to high-quality education and literacy. Because of this, RC and RAC Bayombong supported and started a variety of sustainable projects, programs, and activities to ensure that education is accessible to all learners.
