The basic purpose of this project is to give emphasis to the effective microorganism (EM) in Bokashi balls which helps with the restoration of a healthy ecosystem in both soil and water.
The throwing of Bokashi balls at estero stops the growth of algae (lumot), breaks down sludge (putik) and eliminates the foul smelling odors caused by high levels of ammonia, hydrogen sulfide and methane. The Bokashi balls are made by mixing ordinary clay, red earth or topsoil with a fermented organic matter made using rice bran, oil cake, fish meal, sawdust etc.
This project would not be possible without the help of Rotary Club of Angono and aid from Rotaract Clubs of; Angono, Antipolo City, Cardona, ESCR, Lakeshore Rizal, Metro East Taytay, Morong SIC, Rizal Centro, Rizal Mideast, Taytay, TCC, URS Binangonan and URS Taytay.
