The Rotaract Club of Metro Cebu – CIT University Chapter of Rotary International District 3860 has extended service and fellowship since its charter way back August 9, 1984. In the course of its service as a youth organization, the club has already attained local, national, and international recognition for various community-centered initiatives and projects. This 2021 marks the 37th year of the Rotaract Club of Metro Cebu – CIT University Chapter.
Last August 18, 2021, the club belatedly celebrated its 37th Charter Anniversary. As the world is facing a health crisis because of the coronavirus, the celebration adopted the virtual setting through the Virtual Meating & E-Numan: The Post 37th Charter Anniversary Celebration. With the goal of commemorating a momentous celebration, Virtual Meating & E-Numan was filled with games and fellowship activities to welcome aspirants, connect new and old members, and build relationships between the members and the club alumni. To strengthen the club, the event also served as a membership activity by inviting non-Rotaractors to join the club as a “plus-one”. Furthermore, the event was graced with the presence of guest Rotaractors all over the Philippines.
Just like the name of the event implies, people were called to a virtual meeting where we eat together, hence the wordplay, meating, and a virtual drinking session to constitute an “e-numan” session. Rotaractors and aspirants alike indulged their late-night snacks and dinner including healthy drinks like teas, smoothies, and fruit drinks. Having started at 10 PM and ended at 1:30 AM, everyone engaged in late-night talks and games. This setup portrays a unique message that Rotaractors, and people in general, can still bond and form intimate relationships even through simple fellowship activities such as eating together and talking with one another.
