Public Utility Drivers on MakimaheRAC: COVID-19 Safety Kits Distribution

The Rotaract Club of Ateneo de Naga University spearheaded MakimaheRAC: COVID-19 Safety Kits Distribution for Public Utility Drivers on Oct. 30, 2021 The beneficiaries of the project are jeepney drivers from Milaor, Canaman, and Naga. 

During the distribution, one of the beneficiaries was interviewed about their feedback on the project to which he stated that, “”Nagpapasalamat kami sa saindong tabang na inabot sasamuya, dakulang tabang na po ini pan laban sa covid. Sana dakol pa po kamong matabangan na nagpapasada.” He said that he was grateful for the safety kits as it is helpful in combating the virus. Also, he hopes that the organization will continue its project and benefit more jeepney drivers. Some of the inclusions in the Safety Kits were alcohol, face masks, and the Polio Awareness brochure. 

The event was made possible by the Rotary Club of Naga and other Rotaract co-hosts: Rotaract Club of Naga, Rotaract Club of Lucena Circle, and Rotaract Club Of Universidad de Sta. Isabel – District 3820, Rotaract Club of Lakambini Atimonan, Rotaract Club of San Pascual, Rotaract Club of Daet, and Rotaract Club of Pili Capital. Various individuals also donated in-kind donations such as facemasks and alcohol bottles. 

With this small project, the RAC AdNU hopes to help alleviate the spread of the contagious Coronavirus. Jeepney drivers, one of the most vulnerable sectors in our community, should be protected by aiding them with safety kits and supplies.
