Since the advent of COVID-19, the shift towards the “new normal” has pushed people, such as the students, to go beyond their limits of exploration and readiness to learn. The Rotaract Club of Batangas Metro Pioneers conducted a fundraising activity entitled Bake To School, which was held last August 25 to September 08, 2021.
The Bake To School fundraising activity aims to help young students struggling with their online classes by giving them enough school supplies. Spearheaded by the following rotaractors: Rtr. Leona Cornejo, Rtr. James Celis, Rtr. Camilla Chen, Rtr. Karylle Apquisthe as Project Chairmen of the said initiative. They also have Rtr. Yuan Eduard Tolentino, Rtr. Cassandra Grace Ramos, Rtr. Anthea Dela Guardia, Rtr. Ram Dimaano, Rtr. Jess Libron, Rtr. Yeda Ulgasan, Rtr. Niña Ramirez, Rtr. Angelica Bool, Rtr. Andrea Plata, Rtr. Daniel Villarez, Rtr. Adrel Julean, Rtr. Kaye Arellano, Rtr. Yzabella Dimaculangan, Rtr. Julie Ann Vergara, Rtr. Daniah Mauhay, and Rtr. Jen Aloya, as part of the team.
With the support of the fellow Batangueños, the Bake To School fundraising project was a success as it raised an amount of Php 13,040.00, surmounting their expected revenue. The team was able to bake more than 60 packs of cookies and personally delivered it from Batangas City to Tanauan City.
A total of 30 students were a part of the distribution of school essentials with a short program provided, it was held at Brgy. Talaibo, Ibaan City last September 19, 2021. With this, the Rotaract Club of Batangas Metro Pioneers was able to assist students striving in the new normal—upholding their mantra of “serve to change lives.”
