District 3870 gathered virtually for the annual District Rotaract Interact Assembly (DRIAS) named MADAGWAY: Charging and Empowering Resilient Communities amidst COVID-19 Pandemic. It was hosted by the Rotaract Club of Gingoog City and the Rotaract Club of Metro Valencia spearheaded by Pres. Maria Angelica Biado and Pres. Jhon Lawrence Baruel, respectively. Over 266 participants from 25 Rotaract Clubs and 4 Interact Clubs registered and attended the two-day event.
It started with the District Rotaract Representative Al Rean Rey Nuenay’s Call to Order followed by the Grand Opening of the Host City’s Promotional Video entitled “Gingoog City: The Pure Adventure City.” Guests and dignitaries were formally acknowledged by DSE Cyd Charize Dela Calzada followed by Pres. Maria Angelica who welcomed the guests with warm enthusiasm. Gingoog City Mayor Erick G. Cañosa also gave his inspiring message to the Rotaractors. One of the main highlights of DRIAS 2021 is the Induction Ceremony of the Changemaker Presidents, District Officers and the District Rotaract Representative. They were formally inducted by District Governor John Mark Sarraga.
As a venue of learning and growth, guest speakers were invited to share their expertise. Ms. Hannah Rose Baes talked about growing local economies with her personal experience with the Lumad people of Davao City. PDRR Christian Castillo of District 3820 shed light on this year’s MDIO GEAR Awards. Engr. Ludwig Federigan emphasized the importance of sustainability to our environment. Mr. Mark Averilla, also known as Macoy Dubs, shared how the internet evolved throughout the years and how social media affects the lives of its users. Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach graced us with her talk on Women Empowerment as she conveyed her own journey towards achieving her crown.
It was not all seriousness and solemnity. The event was much awaited for its Raffle Draws and Games where Rotaractors can win GCash Load and Gingoog Local Products. Director Francess Awatin from Rotaract Club of Carmen Valley served as the Game Master and set off the virtual crowd with his amusing sense of humor.
Overall, DRIAS 2021 was a meaningful and worthwhile experience as we have proved that we can connect people, deliver our message and spark change even in the midst of this global pandemic. Madagway Adaw ha inyo alan!

Jhon Lawrence Baruel. 266 nga mga partisipante gikan sa 25 Rotaract Clubs ug 4 Interact Clubs ang nagparehistro ug mitambong sa duha ka adlaw nga kalihokan.

Gihisgutan ni Ms.Hannah Rose Baes ang bahin sa pagtubo nga lokal nga ekonomiya uban ang iyang kaugalingon nga kasinatian sa mga Lumad nga mga tawo sa Lungsod sa Davao. Gihatagan kahayag ni PDRR Christian Castillo ang MDIO GEAR Awards karong tuiga. Gihatagan importansya ni Engr. Ludwig Federigan ang kahinungdanon sa pagpadayon sa atong kalikopan.
