The Rotaract Club of Raha Sulayman Volunteers with the sponsoring Rotary Club of Raha Sulayman Manila together with the Rotaract District 3810 and the following co-host clubs – RC Pandacan Manila, RC University District Manila, RC Makati Lumina, RC Manila Metro, RC Malabon East, RC Paranaque South and RC North Bay East, and in partnership with Y’s Men Club of RAHA Philippines, RAHA Fire Volunteers and Pasay City Host Lions Club,  conducted a joint vaccination awareness webinar last August 22, 2021, via Zoom application and Facebook Live.

Due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases, the project aims to spread awareness to those people who are unaware of the importance of prevention and effects of COVID-19 vaccines. Some vaccine misconceptions or misleading information spread widely through our social media platforms. Let us disseminate appropriate information that helps our communities to be more aware of COVID-19 vaccines.

Dr. Jennie Wong, a pediatrician at Ospital ng Maynila, discusses the COVID-19 mutations because of the nature of RNA viruses like the coronavirus to change and evolve gradually.

During the webinar, RACRSV guest speaker Doc. Jennie Wong discussed the COVID-19 prevention measures and vaccination.

Rtr. Maro Abigpa, a medical student and member of RAC Raha Sulayman Volunteers, discussed his experience with COVID-19 before and after vaccination. That after he was vaccinated and tested for COVID-19 again, the results showed a significant difference from before he was vaccinated.

We also include a panel discussion who is a COVID-19 survivor, Lito Maro Abigpa and an EMT and Rescue Volunteer, Francisco “Kiko” Vargas, in which they share their insights and experiences in this time of pandemic. Through this, we were able to know the importance of having a vaccine and practice proper precautions inside and outside of our houses.

Mr. Francisco Vargas, past president of RAC Raha Sulayman Volunteers, volunteer Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) of Rotary Club of Raha Sulayman Fire and Rescue Volunteers Inc., and a barangay councilor discussed the life of a volunteer emergency responder and the difficulties in this time of pandemic due to COVID-19. It is not visible and encouraged the community to take a vaccine to protect one another.
