Social media is integrated into our lives more than ever. But as the line between ethical and non-ethical use blurs, more users are struggling to navigate the digital world without harm.

In line with the alarming rise of incidents of cyberbullying in the country, President and Project Chair Ralph Santiago of the Rotaract Club of San Jose Del Monte, President Apolonia Illio of the Rotary Club of San Jose Del Monte, and the Interact Club of Paradise Farm National High School conducted a seminar entitled “Logout Hate: Empowering Teens Against Cyberbullying.” The workshop took place on August 6, 2025, at Paradise Farms National High School, gathering 100 student leaders from various school-based organizations.
Two inspiring guest speakers shared their expertise:

Book author and registered criminologist John Ray Quizon discussed the existing laws that prohibit bullying, equipping students with legal knowledge and awareness. On the other hand, BA Broadcast Communication graduate and studio owner Zaira Patricia Baniaga provided practical strategies on how to effectively avoid and handle cyberbullying.

As student leaders, it is vital to promote to their fellow students the importance of responsible internet use and consumption to prevent perpetrating and becoming victims of cyberbullying. The event emphasized that while the digital world remains uncontrollable with ineffective regulations that often fail to avert internet bullying, we can still control ourselves with the content we put out and consume online.
