OCTOBER 24  is known to all Rotarians as the World Polio Day. It is a worldwide celebration of around 1.2 millions members of Rotary Clubs  all over he world in 200 countries. WORLD POLIO Day is significant and is annually celebrated to develop awareness about polio, also to take structural measures toward eradication of the disease, taking the efforts to raise funds to achieve this objective, and informing people about the importance of curbing the virus and any potential outbreaks.

In support to this cause, the Rotaract Club of Metro Valencia together with the Local Government Unit of Barangay Lumbo and the City Health Office of the City of Valencia conducted a “Sabayang Patak Kontra Polio” last January 21-25, 2020 at Barangay Lumbo. 330 children were vaccinated in total.

As part of the ongoing campaign of the Department of Health (DOH) against the recent polio outbreak in the country, we as an active volunteer organization of the City volunteered to serve.
