On September 11, the Rotaract Clubs of RID 3850 and RID 3420 organized a significant webinar entitled the Road to Peace Conference. The webinar was scheduled on this particular date not only to commemorate the disastrous terror attacks that took place in 2001, but also to highlight the crucial month of peace. The program tapped on major experts, academics, diplomats, social activists, and renowned fellows to discuss their contributions towards peace through their respective expertise.
The diverse but equally important panel provided so much insightful and important information that significantly contributed to everyone’s knowledge of national and global peace.
Mr. Yoshiro Yamasaki , the First Peace Ambassador of Japan, outlined the crucial importance of peace through his personal account to great academics such as Dr. Henelito Sevilla , UP Asian Center Dean discussed the overall dynamics of peace in the Middle East. The program was also graced by the crucial inputs from AICHR Representative to Indonesia , HE.Yuyun Wahyaningrum, Consul of Indonesia to Capetown , Hon. Mohamad Parwito and Ms.Arizza , a fellow of the Kofi Annan Foundation.
The overall objective of organizing such an event goes beyond the mere webinar. Rather, it is aimed at serving as a crucial pillar for our global outreach for awareness towards peace. Together, our organization seeks to provide a much needed boost to the overall understanding of peace and why it must be preserved despite the tumultuous global environment
