Rabies remains a significant public health concern in the Philippines, with cases continuing to rise despite ongoing prevention efforts. Recognizing the urgent need for action, the Rotaractors of Midtown QC stepped forward to promote health, prevent illness, and support treatment efforts through a meaningful community-based initiative—PAUSE FOR PAWS, a free anti-rabies vaccination project dedicated to protecting both animals and people.

On October 12, 2025, at Jose Maria Panganiban Senior High School in Novaliches, Quezon City, Rotaractors and partners provided free anti-rabies vaccinations to a total of 55 pets. Led by UP Marielle Cirilo and CSD Joaquin Elijah Tamayo, the team did not stop at the vaccination site. Volunteers went house to house in Barangay Gulod, sharing information about the rabies prevention project and promoting responsible pet ownership among local fur families.

More than a service activity, PAUSE FOR PAWS was an act of love. Each wagging tail and gentle purr reminded Rotaractors why prevention matters—because protecting animals also protects people. Through education, vaccination, and community involvement, Rotaractors helped prevent illness before it starts and strengthened the community’s role in rabies control.

This meaningful effort was made possible with the support of the following partners:
- Pet Partner PH
- Rotary Club of Midtown Quezon City
- Federation of CWD Under Parent in Quezon City, Inc.
- Rotaract Club of Quezon City MediaTech
PAUSE FOR PAWS is a promise—to show up every year, to care, and to keep our communities safer, healthier, and kinder, one pet at a time.
