The Rotaract Club of Meycauayan East, in partnership with Marymount Hospital Inc. and the Philippine Red Cross – Marilao Chapter, successfully held the RACcessible Program: “Your Blood, Our Life” Blood Letting Activity on October 30, 2025, at Marymount Hospital, Brgy. Camalig, City of Meycauayan, Bulacan. This meaningful event was part of the club’s celebration of World Polio Day and The Rotary Foundation Month.

The initiative aimed to address the growing need for a safe and sufficient blood supply in Meycauayan — a developing rural community known as the bukid area, where more than 65,000 residents rely on a single hospital for medical care. Beyond the immediate goal of replenishing blood reserves, the project also sought to raise awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation and to strengthen Rotary’s ongoing advocacy for Ending Polio and advancing Disease Prevention & Treatment.

Under the leadership of Club President Florence Cielo Antonio and Past President Marc Anthony Balitaan, with PN Al-Khalid O. Yap serving as Event Chairman, the activity was carried out smoothly through the united efforts of Rotaractors, medical professionals, and community volunteers. Their teamwork and dedication ensured the success of the event — a true reflection of Rotary’s guiding principle of Service Above Self.

Participants from various parts of the community came forward to donate blood and to learn about the life-saving impact of regular blood donation. Informational materials on health awareness and Rotary’s End Polio campaign were distributed, furthering the advocacy for wellness and disease prevention.

The RACcessible Program continues to demonstrate how compassion and community collaboration can make a profound difference. By making essential health services more accessible in rural areas, the project highlights the power of collective action — showing that when people come together to share a part of themselves, they help sustain life and strengthen the bonds within the community.
