The flagship project of the Rotaract Club of Muntinlupa Central entitled “Super Pinoy Kid Promotes Oral Health: Ngiting Puting Ngipin” is an oral health awareness campaign aimed at children aged 6-9 years old. The project’s impact includes reaching children with a series of oral health campaign engagements. This project is also in collaboration with their sponsoring club, Rotary Club of Muntinlupa Central and of Rotary International District 3830 under the leadership of District Governor Joji Tan. The project was recently awarded by Rotary International as the Asia Pacific Regional Winner of the 2021-22 Rotaract Outstanding Project Awards

The project’s primary objective is to educate and raise awareness about oral health through education and entertainment. As it coincides with Rotary’s Area of Focus, it primarily tackles Maternal and Child Health for it zeroes in to helping kids to maintain a healthy oral health hygiene. Since the initiative aims to instill awareness, the concepts are presented in an engaging, entertaining, and educational manner. The project maximizes the capability of its members and their network to produce originally written scripts, concepts, and storylines aiding the visual storytelling of this project. With the goal to make oral health an essential conversation even among the poorest families in a community, the storytelling device was produced in a manner that the target audience will comprehend the message properly.

Pilipinas Rotaract MDIO Chair MJ Franco and Asia Pacific Rotaract MDIO Chair Louie De Real received the award from Rotary International in Houston, Texas, United States of America.

Super Pinoy Kid is a character embodies the values of the Rotary’s Four-Way Test through a four-story comics series, in which both the Rotary and Rotaract Clubs of Muntinlupa Central printed hard copies to distribute to Filipino children around the country, and due to the restrictions brought upon by the COVID-19 pandemic, Rotarians and Rotaractors conceptualize in innovating the story and adding the advocacy of promoting oral health through a digital means.

Life Changing President Czekinah Tolentino is awarding a Certificate to one of our partners during the launching of the project at the Museo ng Muntinlupa.

As the project continues to reach more communities, one of the most memorable ones is in a community located in Muntinlupa City. As the episodes were shown to the kids, they were following the song and mimicking the steps presented during the video. This scene is a surreal yet impactful experience for the Rotaractors for it brings joy to the creators to see and witness your materials and outputs being appreciated by kids. This scenario brings forth the fact that the formula of making the video appropriate for kids is a successful attempt. Having kids ages 6-9 years old brings a lot of risk as a target audience. Creating a material that will be appreciated by this group can be daunting and tedious, yet the fact that they sing-a-long with the song is worth commending and mentioning as a success indicator of this project.
