Moving forward with a Happy and Healthy Smile

Lifestyle choices affect oral health, and having a good oral care routine is an important thing we should practice as part of everyday self-care. Taking care of our teeth, gums, and mouth contributes not only to our bright and beautiful smiles but also to our overall health. Good oral health care helps keep away plaque and bacteria that helps clear ourselves from plaque and avoid tooth decay.

The Rotaract Club of Lucena South started the #PinaSmile Project three years ago to help provide dental programs and oral health promotion. They believe that providing these will be a potential solution to oral health conditions related to lifestyle factors, especially during this time where proper hygiene is a must to avoid the virus.

The Rotaract Club of Lucena South distributed 150 packs of dental care and personal hygiene kits to the students of Malao-a Calantas Elementary School. Each kit contains a toothbrush, two sachets of toothpaste, a piece of soap, a face towel, and a pamphlet about dental care and personal hygiene.

So often you find that students you’re trying to inspire are the ones that end up inspiring you and changing you for the better. The Rotaract Club of Lucena South believes that there are no small or big acts of kindness – it’s all about the intention behind them.

The leadership of our club president and the support of our sponsoring club allowed us to help 150 students of our sponsored school. The students were represented by their parents and dedicated teachers who helped with this effort. The club followed the city’s guidelines with regards to the pandemic. The project is one of the many things that resembles the club’s care for the school, students, and their families. The club shows its eagerness to see them soon through fighting the virus by promoting self-care.
