Rotaractors all around the world come alive during the week of March 13 as they commemorate the founding of the very first Rotaract club in 1968. This seven-day celebration is known as “World Rotaract Week,” and in 2026, these servant leaders marked its 58th year of continuous leadership and service.
The Cebu Council did not shy away from the festivities, having planned numerous activities spanning from March 8 to March 14. The celebration commenced with Panaghiusa, a sponsorial Mass held at the Redemptorist Church. Through reflection and prayer, the event jumpstarted a week centered on fellowship and service.
Also held on the same day was Tag Boards Up! at the MIT Building, where Rotaractors showcased their creativity through dance performances and quiz bowl competitions. The fun did not end there, as March 10 featured friendly competitions and games at Pat’s Putts. The gathering was not merely a showcase of talents, but also highlighted fellowship, unity, and collaboration across clubs—proving that teamwork and fun go hand in hand.
Following the action-packed activities was a relaxing movie night titled Screen & Stream at 10 Café, held on March 12. Cebuano Rotaractors watched the film Little Women, a timeless piece that tugged at their heartstrings and inspired a sense of empowerment. The festivities concluded with a lively karaoke session on March 14 at J-Cob’s KTV.
Truly, these celebrations were not merely for entertainment and fellowship—they served as reminders of why Rotaract exists in the first place. Rotaract continues to uphold its legacy of service rooted in fellowship and connection. The bonds forged within the Rotaract community extend beyond geographical boundaries, as clubs worldwide unite for good.
Fifty-eight years and counting, Rotaract remains steadfast in creating lasting impact through benevolent initiatives.
