The spirit of growth and unity took root as the Sibol Tree Planting Kick-Off officially began, bringing together individuals driven by a shared purpose to nurture the environment and build a sustainable future. The Rotaract Club of Ipil Sibugay, under District 3850, officially joined the Sibol Tree Planting initiative on June 2025.
In partnership with the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) of Ipil, represented by Mr. Felix Badon, the activity marked a meaningful start to a series of sustainability efforts aimed at protecting and restoring the local ecosystem.
Held in Barangay Buluan, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay, the event gathered dedicated volunteers who shared a common goal: to contribute to environmental conservation and climate resilience. As hands dug into the soil and carefully placed young trees into the earth, the activity became more than a simple act of planting. It became a collective promise to protect and preserve nature for generations to come. Together, the club successfully planted a total of 100 mangrove trees along the coastal area.
Mangroves play a vital role in protecting shorelines from erosion, serving as natural barriers against storms, and providing habitats for marine life. Through this initiative, the organizers hope not only to rehabilitate coastal environments but also to raise awareness about the importance of preserving natural resources.
The Sibol Tree Planting serves as a symbol of growth, unity, and responsibility among the youth and the community. It reflects the commitment of the Rotaract Club and its partners to take action in addressing environmental challenges and promoting sustainable development.
Every tree planted contributes not only to greener landscapes but also to stronger communities rooted in care and cooperation.
