Bubbles, laughter, and eager young minds filled Brgy. Hinactacan, La Paz, Iloilo City, as the Rotaract Club of La Paz brought learning to life through SOAPERACT: Lathering Up for a Healthier Tomorrow on March 28, 2026. Part of the month-long celebration of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) Month, the initiative aimed to instill proper hygiene habits among children while contributing to sustainable development through health education and community empowerment. Through interactive sessions, fun games, and guided demonstrations, young learners at the Hinactacan Day Care Center discovered the fundamentals of handwashing and toothbrushing, learning not just skills but the importance of taking care of their own health. Each child received a hygiene kit containing soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, sanitizer, and a towel—tools to practice the lessons learned and to reinforce the habit of cleanliness as a daily practice.

The impact of SOAPERACT extends far beyond a single day. By combining knowledge with resources, the program ensured that children are equipped to protect their health while fostering a culture of care and responsibility. For the Rotaract members, the activity offered a meaningful chance to teach, connect, and lead by example, strengthening their sense of service and community. Through this initiative, the Rotaract Club of La Paz not only empowered young learners but also demonstrated how local action contributes to global goals, showing that sustainable development begins with small, consistent acts of care. When we start with care, cleanliness follows, and health becomes something everyone can share—one habit at a time.
