To be able to help is one of the objectives of the Rotaract Club of Hundred Islands and as they saw the problem, they readily did their best to help resolve it.

Rotaractors, Rotarians, and Interactors of Hundred Islands implemented a livelihood program in order to come to the aid of the Persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) in BJMP, Alaminos City, and it is named PERA SA BULA – Dishwashing Soap Making

The organization caught sight of the struggles of the people in BJMP, thus administering the approach of a livelihood program last 14th of October, 2023. PDLs, along with the Rotaractors and Interactors, learned on how to make a dishwashing liquid soap that will serve as their source of income.

They produced a total of 90 liters of Dishwashing Liquid soap, showing their determination, and all of the products were neatly packed in bottles, therefore, they are all ready to be sold in the market.

The plan of action was a success with the help of the utmost cooperation and perseverance of the convicts. The program was beneficial and gave hope to the inmates as it offered them an alternative source of income, they learned a new skill, and they will then be able to sustain their needs despite the toil in attaining and having access to resources.
