District 3770’s RYLA 2024 unites young leaders; advocates resilient leadership

More than 100 young leaders from various Rotaract Clubs, youth organizations, and interactors of District 3770 gathered for the annual Rotary Youth Leadership Awards event with the theme “Rising Above Post-Pandemic Challenges through Resilient Leadership” held at PLT Wellness and Mountain Resort, March 2-3, 2024.

Hosted by the Rotary and Rotaract Clubs of Bayombong led by HCP Patrice Gay Pagtulingan and HCP Jhon Edmar De Guzman, the two-day event was filled with activities, workshops, and interactive sessions designed to enhance the participant’s leadership abilities, foster teamwork, and promote community service.

One of the highlights of the event was the opportunity for participants to learn from esteemed speakers who shared their experiences and insights on their field of expertise.

During the first day of the training, Dr. Corazon N. Abriam discussed her topic on ‘What is Leadership?’; Mrs. Essel Tumaliuan- Canaberal informed the participants about ‘Harnessing A.I. Tools for Effective Communication in Leadership’; and Dr. Edwin Edilberto N. Mania gave important points on ‘How to be a Peer-Helper in Mental Health Well-Being: Building Bridges, Not Walls.

Meanwhile, a recollection was facilitated by Hon. Rubyrose O. Barrientos at night, right after the participants had their free time for their unity dance choreographed by Rtr. Marvin A. Bayson.

Furthermore, the second day of RYLA 2024 kicked off with the “Amazing Race” which tested the participants’ leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Following the competition, the event continued with a series of talks and seminars focused on fire prevention where speakers from the Nueva Vizcaya Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), together with Rtn. Dhaise Leal-Cabautan shared valuable insights on the topic ‘Fire Extinguisher and LPG Management.

The closing program was made exciting by activities such as the raffle draw, unity dance, awarding ceremony, and the selection of RYLA 2025 participants, which was sponsored by PDG Dindo through a spin-the-wheel, adding an element of surprise to the announcement.

Present during the two-day leadership training are dignitaries of the district- DG Rudy DC. Enriquez, PDG Ma. Nonnette O. Tiam, PDG Dindo O. Berino, DRR Jessica Mitra, PDRR Marnie Manible, and the Rotarians.

The event exemplified the spirit of Rotary’s commitment to youth development and community service.
