In the spirit of service and community, on October 21-22, 2023, the Rotaract Club of Uptown Cubao orchestrated an unforgettable experience – “A Night under the Stars: Camping for a Cause” in celebration of the clubs’ 3rd charter anniversary at Sitio Malaikmo, Upper Silangan, San Mateo Rizal in partnership with BES KAMP. This transformative event wasn’t just a gathering; it was a dynamic canvas where compassion, education, and environmental consciousness converged to create a masterpiece of impact.

Project Meals on Wheels – spreading joy with Jollibee

The day’s overture unfolded with a poignant community outreach program, where we didn’t just provide packed meals from Jollibee to 70 children and parents; we served up moments of warmth and human connection. Laughter echoed in the air alongside the aroma of nourishment, setting the stage for a day of shared joy. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Jollibee for being a vital part of our mission, spreading smiles, and lighting up lives in Sitio Malaikmo.

Simultaneously, a literary haven emerged, where the magic of storytelling and reading lit up the eager faces of the young audience. This wasn’t just about books; it was about igniting a love for learning, planting seeds of curiosity that will bloom in the hearts of these children.

Project UPTOWN stole the spotlight, a vibrant tapestry woven with storytelling, games, and a generous showering of school supplies and toys. Beyond the immediate joy, it was an investment in the future, a collective effort to sculpt a tomorrow rich in possibilities.

Promoting Hygiene for a healthier tomorrow

The Basic Hygiene Program was a beacon of health education, reaching over 50 children with vital lessons on hand hygiene. But we didn’t stop there – we also distributed basic hygiene kits, ensuring they have the tools to maintain cleanliness. With the distribution of hygiene kits, we weren’t just providing essentials; we were empowering a community to prioritize well-being.

Trail Treasures: Hiking and Trash Collection – nurturing nature

As part of our relentless commitment to protect and preserve our environment, we organized “Trail Treasures: Hiking and Trash Collection.” The lush trails of our beloved surroundings beckoned us, and we answered that call with fervor.

Hiking, while collecting trash along the way, became our noble mission. It was a remarkable day, not only in appreciating the beauty of nature but also in actively caring for it. Together, we left the trails cleaner, greener, and more vibrant. It was a testament to our commitment to sustainability.

Project ASSEMBLE – A Night of Fellowship under the Stars

After a day of heartfelt service projects, we couldn’t think of a better way to wrap it up than with our “Fellowship Night under the Stars.” The stunning cityscape view from BES KAMP set the perfect backdrop for a night of camaraderie.

Laughter and music filled the air as we enjoyed a spirited karaoke session and indulged in a captivating movie time. Our hearts connected over engaging conversations, complemented by delicious food and refreshing drinks. This was more than just a night out; it was a celebration of the bonds we share, fueled by a common passion for service and community. What a great way to celebrate our 3rd Charter Anniversary!

“A Night Under the Stars: Camping for a Cause” wasn’t merely an event; it was a showcase of our holistic commitment to community service and collaborative spirit by partnering with different organizations and individuals. It was about transcending boundaries, creating ripples of impact across education, well-being, environmental stewardship, and fellowship. Under the celestial canopy, we weren’t just Rotaractors; we were architects of a brighter, more interconnected future for the communities we serve.
