On July 4, 2023, the Rotaract Club of Changebringers is set to embark on an extraordinary mission, bringing smiles and ensuring the well-being of 300 kindergarten pupils aged 5 and below in Barangay Tambo, Parañaque City. The Healthy Smiles Project Year 2 represents our unwavering commitment to creating a brighter future for these children, as we join hands with other Rotary and Rotaract Clubs in Rotary International District 3830 to celebrate National Children’s Day and mark the beginning of the new Rotary year under the inspiring theme, “Create Hope in the World.”

Last Rotary Year, Project Healthy Smiles benefited more than 300 students in Cainta, Antipolo and Cavite.

Dental health is a vital aspect of a child’s overall well-being, yet it often remains overlooked. Alarming statistics reveal that tooth decay affects nearly 60-90% of school-aged children worldwide, making it one of the most prevalent chronic conditions among young individuals. The impact of poor oral health extends beyond physical discomfort, as it can impede their ability to eat, speak, and concentrate in school, hindering their academic and social development.

We empower our members and volunteers to effectively deliver our oral health teaching demonstration.

Recognizing the significance of oral care, the Healthy Smiles Project Year 2 aims to address this pressing issue head-on. Through the generous donation of dental hygiene kits, we provided the essential tools and resources needed for proper oral care. In addition, we offered fluoridation treatments and provided health education sessions to instill the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene habits from an early age.

By nurturing a culture of preventive dental care, we empower these young children to take charge of their oral health and lay the foundation for a lifetime of healthy smiles. Through our project, we hope to reduce the prevalence of tooth decay and promote overall well-being, enabling these children to embrace a future filled with confidence, opportunities, and improved quality of life.

The collaboration between Rotary and Rotaract Clubs in District 3830 for National Children’s Day exemplifies the strength and impact of collective action. It showcases Rotary’s unwavering commitment to the well-being of our youth, as we stand united in our determination to create a world where every child can thrive.

This project signifies the importance of collaboration of NGO’s and LGU’s to promote causes that uplift the lives of the communities we serve.

As we welcome the new Rotary year, the theme “Create Hope in the World” serves as a guiding beacon, inspiring Rotarians and Rotaractors to make a lasting impact in the communities we serve. Through the Healthy Smiles Project Year 2, we are breathing life into this theme, embodying hope and transformation for the children at the Tambo Day Care Center.

Together, we can create a ripple effect of positive change, ensuring that every child enjoys the benefits of good oral health and a brighter future.
