Last year, the COVID-19 pandemic posed unexpected challenges to the health, livelihood, and well-being of communities around the globe. Working, shopping, and getting around have all changed drastically as a result of global efforts to contain the virus’s spread.
People turned to the outdoors for exercise, mental relaxation, and to help them escape the stress caused by the new patterns of daily life in a new normal. Bicycling was one of the most popular forms of recreation and exercise before, and it is becoming more well liked today. So, here is where the project, PadyACT Siklista came into action.
More than just a biking event, Bike Fun Ride for a Cause, with the theme PadyACT Siklista: Ahon Patagumpay, held today, April 3, 2022 at Tanauan City is a charity effort held by Rotaract Club of Tanauan, District 3820, spearheaded by Rtr. Seane Mathew Pasco (Chair of the Project) and Dir. Eric Marasigan (Co-chair)
The ride finally kicked off at 6:30 in the morning. With the route from New Tanauan City Hall to the boundary of Ambulong and Talisay going back to New Tanauan City Hall, the event immensely managed to offer riders an inimitable and fun biking experience.
After the ride, a series of side games and raffle were held to reciprocate the participants’ whopping support. Also, an awarding ceremony followed wherein the following received the awards:
Largest Delegation – Hagupit Biker’s Club
Best Team Jersey – Hagibis Braders
Oldest Biker – Hagupit Biker’s Club
Young Biker – Hagupit Biker’s Club
The Rotaract Club is beyond grateful as they were able to rise to the occasion even if it’s their premier event in biking.
The club was able to raise Php 80,790. The proceeds from this event will be rendered for: installation of bike repair stand, installation of bike racks, and donation of wheelchairs.
