Let’s be honest. You probably aren’t going to read this whole article.

But what if it was read to you out loud while driving to work, working out at the gym, completing chores around the house or doing your projects/thesis?

EPISODE 1: Be Proactive Facilitated by Foundation Director Rosanne Arado and Deputy Foundation Director Karylle Dotaro. “In being proactive, develop that relationship of trust and camaraderie among yourselves. Because it is this relationship which will bind you together when the going gets tough. It is this relationship of mutual respect which will overcome the obstacles that tempt you to surrender.” —PDG Pepz Bengzon of Rotary Club of Makati

Better yet, imagine listening to a smooth, relaxing voice like Joyce Pring’s. You’d be hanging on every word, and ready for the next episode immediately after.

As the world becomes busier, the podcast format has become incredibly popular. Audio content allows the listener to multitask. A recent study showed that while 49% of podcast listening happens at home, 22% happens while driving, 11% at work, and 8% while exercising. Podcast audio content gives listeners the ability to dive into topics without having to set aside time to read or watch a video and that is the beauty of podcasts, and today they are more popular than ever. With the COVID-19 pandemic, the rise of digital media such as podcasts has continued to rise.

For the past 2 years, outdoor activities and social gathering have been prohibited. Most of the club’s activities, meetings, webinar and the like are through online. Some speakers need to prepare slides and are required to open their camera. The Rotaract Club of Makati thought about an activity in which the speaker nor the attendees don’t need to prepare slides and open the camera and think of ways on how each and every one in the club was able to build a stronger bond and help develop skills and knowledge to other club members in these unprecedented times. This activity is called the UBER Podcast.

UBER Podcast is a 6-month long leadership learning activity where Rotaractors will share takeaways and apply the learnings from the book “7 Habits of Highly Effective People written by Stephen Covey” is a podcast style.

EPISODE 4: Think Win-Win “Just like our Four-Way Test of the things we think, say or do in Rotary, the Think Win-Win mindset has to be constantly practiced every day in order to acquire it. And when you do, you may rest assured that in your dealings in your club members or whoever you are working with will feel more committed to perform any desired actions. And why not? In win-win, everybody wins!” —IPP Peter Manzano of the Rotary Club of Makati

This UBER Podcast is not only for having fun but also for enhancing leadership skills. By attending the said activity, the members of Rotaract Club of Makati will not only be attendees but also the speakers of the activity.

They will be paired by each other and are assigned to a specific topic and will be given a date in which they will lead the activity and by this UBER Podcast, the sharers will plan out their activities and lead the podcast all throughout their scheduled date. They will give homework so that the members will also apply their learnings on their own life.
