Islandspiration is a five-year-old inspiring community project spearheaded by the Rotaract Club of Tagbilaran Community Based. For years, the club traveled to various islets in Bohol and nearby provinces to conduct various community projects that focused on the Rotary International 7 Areas of Focus.
On December 16, 2021, Super Typhoon Odette wreaked havoc and hardship on our island of Bohol as well as other areas in Visayas and Mindanao. Many people were forced to flee to safer areas due to strong winds, heavy rain, and rapid flooding, only to return to shards and fragments of what was once their home. Livelihoods have been lost, especially for those who rely on farming and fishing for a living. Disasters like this disproportionately affect the most vulnerable members of our communities, particularly those who live on islands or near the sea.
No matter how difficult life’s challenges are, faith is what gets us started, and hope is what keeps us going.
On this Islandspiration Year 5, “Pail of Hope Wave 3,” the Rotaract Club of Tagbilaran Community Based, conducted a relief operation in response to the victims of Super Typhoon Odette. On its 3rd wave, 200 family beneficiaries from Pangapasan Island, Tubigon, Bohol, one of the most affected islets by Super Typhoon Odette, received the “Pail of Hope,” which contains necessities that could help them in their daily needs.
All 200 beneficiaries wear smiles on their faces as the team hands them the Pail of Hope as it gives them hope and faith to continue living, especially during this difficult time. When things get out of hand and beyond our control, bringing hope into the lives of others helps them keep fighting and improves their chances of making their lives better. In this way, the team shows them the love that we are all in this together.
This project made it possible thru a “Donation Drive” with the help of our community partners in service, Rotaract clubs of Tagbilaran School-Based (HNU Chapter & BISU Chapter), Rotary Club of Tagbilaran, JPPHA-PI Chapter/Department of Pharmacy, CODE Fab, Fablab Bohol Philippines, and other Non-Profit Organizations around the country.
Amid the COVID-19 Pandemic and recovery from the devastating typhoon, the Rotaract Club of Tagbilaran – Community Based continues to look forward and be a helping hand to the community by giving people hope and making an impact on the community and inspiring them to help and serve to change lives. In these trying times, those who have been severely affected are looking for any sign of hope that things will get better sooner than later and as people of action, we help in giving people hope and keeping their faith because we aspire to inspire the community.

Ang IslaNdSPIRATION kay usa ka makapadasig nga proyekto para sa komunidad nga gipangunahan sa Rotaract Club sa Tagbilaran Community Based. Sulod sa lima ka tuig, ang Rotaract Club of Tagbilaran Community Based naga bisita ngadto sa ka lain-laing mga isla sa Bohol, nagpa-higayon sa nagka lain-laing proyekto ngadto sa komunidad nga nagahatag og pagdasig ug pagserbisyo.
Adtong Disyembre 16, 2021, ka-lisod ug ka-daot ang na-sinati sa Bohol tungod ni Super Typhoon Odette. Daghang mga tawo ang na-pugos og hawa sa ilang mga panimalay tungod sa kusog nga hangin, kusog nga ulan, ug kusog nga pag-baha. Mga tipak ug mga tipik sa ka-niadto sa ilang puy-anan ang maong ni-tagbo nila sa ilang pag-balik. Ang mga katalagman nga sama ni-ini magahatag og dakong apekto sa labing huyang nga komunidad, labi na kadtong nag-puyo sa mga isla ug duol sa dagat.
Apan bisa’g unsa pa ka-lisod ang mo hagit sa kinabuhi, ang hugot nga pag-tuo mao ang maka-pasugod sa tanan, ug ang paglaum mao ang maka-padayon kanato.
Niining ika-limang tuig sa IslaNdSPIRATION, ang “Pail of Hope and Pack of Faith,” nga gipasiugdahan sa Rotaract Club of Tagbilaran Community Based, usa ka relief operation ang gi hatag ngadto sa mga biktima sa bagyo. Usa sa mga na apektohan ni Super Typhoon Odette ang Isla sa Pangapasan, Tubigon, Bohol. Halos 200 ka mga pamilya ang naka-dawat sa “Pail of Hope and Pack of Faith” nga adunay mga batakang panginahanglanon sama sa pagkaon, tubig, banig, baldi, kabo, mga sanina, mga tambal ug uban pa.
Kini nga proyekto gipa-sugdan sa usa ka donation drive nga cash ug in-kind donation. Na himo kini sa pakig-tambayayong sa Rotary Club of Tagbilaran, Rotaract Clubs sa Tagbilaran (HNU Chapter & BISU Chapter), JPPHA-PI Chapter/Department of Pharmacy, CODE Fab, Fablab Bohol Philippines, ug uban pang Non-Profit Organizations sa Probinsya sa Bohol ug uban pang mga probinsya sa Pilipinas.
Tagaan nato’g importansya ang pag serbisyo ug pag-tabang sa mga apektadong komunidad. Isip isig-katawo, tabangan nato ang atong mga igsuon nga mo-bangon. Hatagan nato sila’g lamdag ug paglaum taliwala sa pandemya ug sa nagun-ob nga bagyong Odette.
Ni-ining mga pagsulay sa kinabuhi, magpadayon kita’g tabang ngadto kanila. Mag hinay-hinay og barug ug mag laum nga kining tanan mo balik sa normal.
Kami nga mga tawong andam mo tabang para sa mga tao nga nag kinahanglan. Atong serbisyohan atong komunidad alang sa kaayohan sa tanan.
