Editor’s Note (November ’21)

Kindness is best when shared. As we celebrate the Rotary Foundation month, Rotaract Clubs in the Philippines are also doing charitable donations to various organizations and the Rotary Foundation.

Based on the Rotary portal, The Rotary Foundation transforms your gifts into service projects that change lives both close to home and around the world.

Since it was founded more than 100 years ago, the Foundation has spent more than $4 billion on life-changing, sustainable projects. The Foundation was created in 1917 by Rotary International’s sixth president, Arch C. Klumph, as an endowment fund for Rotary “to do good in the world.” It has grown from an initial contribution of US$26.50 to more than US$1billion.

Rotaractors are also helping TRF in achieving its purpose to make lives better in the community and around the world.

Currently, the total donation of Rotaract Clubs in the Philippines to TRF reaches $1,193, with District 3850 topping the 10 Districts with a donation of 540.20 USD.

While we are doing services in our own community, we also encourage them to donate to TRF to make meaningful impact to the foundation and to support a huge number of beneficiaries.

The Rotary Foundation helps Rotarians in improving health, providing quality education, improving the environment, and alleviating poverty. And by donating to TRF, you’re also helping fund various projects in the world.

When donating to TRF, it will be transformed into grants that fund local and international humanitarian projects, scholarships, and activities, such as vocational training teams.

One of the best projects funded by the TRF is the End Polio Now campaign of Rotary International. The campaign ensures that no child suffers the paralyzing effects of polio ever again. We still have work to do to protect children around the globe. We need to continue our polio vaccination efforts to eliminate the wild poliovirus from Afghanistan and Pakistan, where it remains endemic.

Aside from this polio vaccination campaign, Rotary International has various projects which aim to support initiatives under the seven areas of focus. And by donating, we are actually helping them to have a peaceful, meaningful and progressive community where everyone is living life according to their own will.
