Editor’s Note for September

Every September, we are focusing on Basic Education and Literacy Month. During this month, we support activities and training to improve education for all children and literacy for children and adults.

Education opens up the mind, expands it and allows us to improve our life in so many ways. This is our tool to become the best versions of ourselves and be ready to face the competitive world.

With the start of the new school year this month, Rotaractors all over the country have mounted series of projects to ensure that all people from all walks of life have sustainable access to basic education and literacy.

Despite the limited resources due to the ongoing threat of COVID-19, Rotaract Clubs connect together to partner with other passionate volunteers who dedicate their time and talent support the basic education in their respective areas of cover.

One of the biggest challenges in supporting education today, is the new approach in the system, with the absence of face-to-face classes. However, Rotaractors are still proving that they can deliver services even in the new normal.

We encourage every club in the country to support these needs as we want to inspire and motivate our young learners to become better individuals in the future. Our primary purpose, being in this fast-growing organization, is to help in the best way we can.

As what Malcolm said, “Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.” This quote simply means that we can achieve all our dreams if we put hard work and determination from the start.

As we gear up to another month of service, we want our Rotaractors to continue supporting education and be catalysts of change. Continue to do selfless service in your community. Inspire them. Motivate them. Because as Rotaractors, we don’t need a reason to help!
