Editor’s Note for July

By Elyrose Naorbe | Posted on July 20, 2021

July is the birth of the new Rotary Year.

This month signifies new roles, new responsibilities, and new breed of leaders in both the Rotaract and Rotary. As we celebrate the new Rotary Year themed: Serve to Change Lives, we are also gearing towards new innovation and project implementations for the community.

Because of COVID-19, the usual get-together and fellowships are limited. But others find a way to conduct inductions, orientations, and training, making sure that they jumpstart the RY 2022-2023 with full knowledge and ideas about the ins and outs of the organization.

And as we embark on the new RY, we are also excited to share stories of new beginnings and how clubs strategize their year-long plans to make an impact to the people and the community as well.

Just like in the previous years, we know that clubs will face struggles and tough decision making, but we are putting our trust that they can pull it off successfully. We believe that Rotaractors have the full capacity to render quality service and that they can inspire others to do the same.

With our current situation now, Rotaract Clubs proved that they don’t need a reason to help. The spirit of volunteerism is burning and the passion to help is continuing. But we should always remember that we need to protect ourselves while helping other people. We should follow safety protocols in order to keep us safe.

The pandemic is still putting us in a hard situation but if we all work together, we can eradicate this deadly virus. With the help of everyone in beating polio, we firmly believe that we can do the same thing with COVID-19.

Enjoy another year of doing selfless service and as we imbibe this year’s Rotary theme, let us bring people closer and together let’s create an impact to the people in the community.
