Often times neglected, abandoned on the streets, or being chased away. Stray Dogs and Cats on our communities are almost seen as pests that needed to be exterminated. They are continually being pushed away by many, but there are shelters like the House Of The Strays (HOTS), who extended their hands in helping and rescuing these voiceless beings.

Consists of Participants, Volunteers, Rotarians and Rotaractors, Sponsors and Partners; everyone came together in unity to support the mission of creating a brighter paw-sible future for our voiceless furry companions.

Together with Rev. Kenneth Depasucat, all participants, fur parents and fur babies were blessed and prayed over during the event.

Everyone lined up for a photo opportunity prior to the most anticipated part of the event, to Walk Fur A Cause.
Walk Fur A Cause is an initiative of the Rotaract Club of New Rise Kalookan North which started since Rotary Year 2022-2023, together with the Rotaract Club of University of Caloocan City-College of Business and Accountancy and the Rotaract Club of Divine Mercy College Foundation Inc., to raise funds and awareness, to help these voiceless furry companions to rehabilitate and be adopted.

It is still a friendly competition with other participants. But we compete not to be divided, but to unite for one cause.
On its 4th year, the event was attended by thrilled participants which consists of Fur Parents and Fur Babies, Rotaractors and Rotarians, Sponsors, Partners and Volunteers who believed in this mission. Everyone started walking 2.0 kilometers in unity around the Caloocan City People’s park, together with their fur babies and friends, on May 31, 2026 in support to raise funds for the beneficiary of the event – the House of the Strays (HOTS), who rescues stray cats and dogs, until they are ready for adoption.

A heartfelt message was given by Sir Jhun Palomino (owner and founder) during the event reminding every pet owner to be responsible for their pets. One highlight of his message was Goldilocks – a once rescued stray, adopted by President Elect Jamaica Bajarias, and now a participant at Walk Fur A Cause Year 4, who won 3rd Place during the event – a product of the mission of the Hose of the Strays.
It has been a commitment since 2023 of the Rotaract Club of New Rise Kalookan North to support House Of The Strays (HOTS) in their mission in protecting, preserving, rescuing, rehabilitating our voiceless furry companions, and will continue to do so until all strays experience a brighter paw-sible future.
