Every club has its beginning—the Rotaract Club of Cebu Fuente – University of San Carlos forged its legacy of service and impact on March 6, 2009. Seventeen years later, the club remains strong thanks to its long lineage of inspiring leaders.

The sixth day of March is not just an ordinary birthday celebration for the club; it is its Charter Anniversary. Without the charter, the club would remain merely an idea. The official recognition introduced RACCF-USC to the global Rotary community and connected the club to a wider reach of service.

This all began with the vision and leadership of Charter President Sydrick Deiparine. What was once a small group of students who shared a passion for volunteerism has evolved into a nearly two-decade-long commitment to service.

To honor the foundation laid by the charter president, game-changer president Yoanna Aliñabon celebrated this momentous occasion through one of the projects under 12 Days of Christmas: MAMABILE. Held at the Barangay Hall in Talamban last March 13, this community initiative focused on nurturing the mental health of mothers and empowering women through education and support. Beneficiaries received care kits containing medicines, hygiene materials, and baby essentials. They also participated in insightful discussions addressing postpartum depression, emotional burnout, and women’s legal rights—all of which directly support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) and 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions).

Following the project proper was a feast of potluck food and shared stories. MAMABILE volunteers celebrated another year of service through nourishing meals and strengthened their bonds through fellowship. What made the celebration even more special was the presence of former RACCF-USC President and current SK Chairman of Barangay Talamban, Mr. Gerald Nitz Ponce. He assisted the MAMABILE project heads in ensuring the successful implementation of the initiative. Mr. Ponce himself witnessed how the efforts he once helped build continue through the passion and dedication of the current Rotaractors. Indeed, it is inspiring to see the youth’s eagerness to engage in benevolent endeavors flourish and endure through time.
