The Rotaract Club of Tacloban continues to expand its impact in youth leadership and community service after being recognized as an accredited Youth Organization Registration Program (YORP) organization under the National Youth Commission (NYC). This accreditation affirms the club’s commitment to youth development, leadership, and meaningful civic engagement within the community.
As a YORP-accredited organization, the club is also recognized as part of the Tacloban City Youth Development Council (CYDC), a local platform that brings together youth organizations to participate in the planning and implementation of programs that promote youth empowerment and development in the city. Through this representation, the organization has been granted one official seat in the CYDC, enabling active contribution to discussions and initiatives that shape youth-related policies and programs in Tacloban.
This recognition has also opened opportunities for the club to participate in several initiatives organized by the Tacloban City Youth Development Office, strengthening collaboration between the organization and the local government in advancing youth-centered advocacies.
Among the key activities the club participated in was the Tacloban City Youth Congress 2025, a gathering of young leaders and youth organizations across the city aimed at fostering dialogue, collaboration, and leadership development among the youth sector. The event brought together over 200 youth participants, creating a dynamic space for discussions on youth empowerment, civic engagement, and community involvement.
The club was represented by five delegates, who actively participated in the sessions and exchanges of ideas during the congress. Their presence highlighted the club’s commitment to engaging with fellow youth leaders and contributing to conversations that strengthen youth participation in local governance and community development.
Through its YORP accreditation and involvement in the CYDC, the Rotaract Club of Tacloban continues to reinforce its role as a partner in building a stronger and more empowered youth community. By participating in city-led initiatives and collaborating with fellow youth organizations, the club demonstrates that Rotaractors are not only leaders in service but also active contributors to shaping a more inclusive and progressive future for the youth of Tacloban.
