Kape & Smiles Patrol — Year 2: Honoring the Unseen Frontliners of MassKara

By Julius Lorca Jr. | Posted on December 27, 2025

Large-scale celebrations like the iconic MassKara Festival burst with music, color, and joy — but behind every dazzling light and every energized crowd stands a group of individuals whose presence is essential yet often overlooked: our uniformed personnel and emergency responders. While thousands gather to celebrate, it is their vigilance, discipline, and resilience that safeguard the heartbeat of Bacolod City.

Rain or shine, RACMB recognizes the hard work and dedication of our policemen.

This spirit of gratitude is what fuels Kape & Smiles Patrol — Year 2, an initiative of the Rotaract Club of Metro Bacolod, dedicated to appreciating the silent heroes who endure the city’s most demanding nights. Through harsh rain, overwhelming foot traffic, and the intensity of peak festival hours, policemen, SWAT officers, firefighters, medics, and volunteer responders remained steadfast — often with no break, no shelter, and no hesitation.

To honor their service, Rotaractors once again made their rounds with warm cups of coffee, snacks, and genuine words of thanks. But more than the refreshments, what they offered was comfort, recognition, and community — a heartfelt reminder that their sacrifices are seen and valued.

Kape & Smiles Patrol has grown into a meaningful tradition rooted in empathy: a simple act with profound impact. Because while the crowd celebrates freely, it is the security teams who shoulder the responsibility of keeping Bacolod safe.

Through this project, Rotaract reinforces an essential truth:
Great events are made possible by great protectors — and communities thrive when their silent heroes are honored, supported, and remembered.
