A Decade of Service, Leadership, and Legacy: The Rotaract Club of Bayombong at 10

A decade ago, a handful of young dreamers in Nueva Vizcaya planted seeds of service in the heart of Bayombong. With patience, care, and unwavering passion, those seeds have grown into a flourishing tree—its roots anchored in fellowship, its branches reaching out in leadership, and its fruits nourishing the lives of many.

What started with small steps—assisting the Rotary Club of Bayombong during the Korean Summer Friendship Visit on August 1, 2015, and holding its first meeting ten days later at the PLTCI CHTM Building under the guidance of Charter President Edjo Francis F. Ramos and Adviser Rtn. Johannes M. Beleno—soon grew into something bigger than they ever imagined. By August 11, 2016, through the initiative of PDG Maria Nonette O. Tiam and PP Rosalinda V. Reguyal, the Rotaract Club of Bayombong of Rotary International District 3770 officially earned its charter, marking the beginning of a journey that continues to inspire lives up to this day.

The Heart of a Decade: What Makes the Club Strong

The Rotaract Club of Bayombong is more than just an organization—it is a family. Over the years, the club has reached milestones that many aspire to achieve. What makes it stand out is the strength of its leadership. Past presidents remain intact- actively guiding and empowering the new generation of Rotaractors. Decision-making is collective, and every project is born from fellowship and collaboration.

The club successfully conducted its Project C.O.P.E (Creating Opportunities to fight Problems in Education) – ‘Bag of Hope’ at Villa Adriano Elementary School (VAES) in Brgy. Busilac, Bayombong, July 2024.

The club’s inclusivity is also its unique strength. Though its name bears “Bayombong,” its members come from across Nueva Vizcaya—Solano, Bagabag, Aritao, Bambang, Sta. Fe—and most are young professionals. The club’s heart, however, beats strongest for the Indigenous Peoples, who make up a large part of their beneficiaries.

Projects that Shaped the Decade

From education to environment, water to wellness, the club’s projects prove that Rotaract is not only about service—it is about sustainability and impact.

  • Project COPE (Creating Opportunities to fight Problems in Education)
What began as simple kit distributions has evolved into Bags of Hope and Books of Hope. To date, more than 3,000 learners, particularly from last mile schools, have benefited from this initiative, which grew stronger during the pandemic in 2020.
  • The Living Legacy Project (Supporting the Environment)
Since 2021, the club has nurtured a privately adopted property into a thriving green space. With 422 seedlings—from bamboo propagules to native and fruit-bearing trees—this project goes beyond tree planting. It ensures trees thrive, making sustainability not just an idea but a living legacy.
  • Project Sagip-Uhaw (Water Sanitation and Hygiene)
What started with bottled water distribution during local festivals has transformed into life-changing installations. In 2023, the club built a pump well in Barangay Buenavista, Bayombong, providing a sustainable water source for 300 families across four puroks.
  • Literacy for Change Project (2020)
In partnership with the Rotaract Club of Islamabad, Bangladesh, the club took part in an international initiative that promoted literacy and access to education. This project not only strengthened its advocacy for learning but also showcased how Rotaract Bayombong values global fellowship and cross-border collaboration.

These projects, among many others, reflect the club’s alignment with Rotary International’s Areas of Focus, and its continued pursuit of meaningful impact.

Recognition and Growth

From being a consistent outstanding club of the district to receiving the Certificate of Achievement in Rotary Foundation Giving, the Rotaract Club of Bayombong has proven its dedication to service beyond boundaries. Every year, one of its Past Presidents is also appointed to serve as an officer at the district level, further amplifying the club’s influence and leadership within District 3770.

Looking Ahead: The Next Decade

As it celebrates its 10th founding anniversary, the Rotaract Club of Bayombong looks back with pride and forward with vision. Part of this vision is to charter another Rotaract Club—expanding its reach, giving more young leaders a chance to serve, and ensuring that the spirit of Rotaract continues to grow stronger in Nueva Vizcaya.

For its members, Rotaract is more than just service—it is where they found their purpose, their value, and their family. And for the community it serves, the past decade is proof that when hearts beat together for service, the impact can last a lifetime.
