Last July 24, 2022, the Rotaract clubs of District 3800 had its District Training Assembly (DISTAS) at Boso-boso Resort —Rizal. It was graced by more than 200 attendees which includes the District Governor Bobby Tanyag and District Rotaract Chairman Jack Lua. The event included activities such as presentation of Rotaractors of their local delicacies, tourism and other information about their zones, break out sessions and fellowship. The highlight of the event was the induction and handover ceremony. IPDRR Julie Abante and DRR Christine Nicolas delivered their speeches in the event.
For IPP Marianne Aguirre of Rotaract Club of Malabon Central the focal point of each of these messages is about the their desires to make the district more evolved and unified.
While Imaginative Amazing Treasure President Khamyle Martin shared that her key takeaways includes “to become a leader who can mold and prepare our club members to be the next generation of club presidents or to be an inspiration to other people where we can gain more members and expand our club to it’s highest potential.”
The event also included a breakout session where the participants were able to learn different things such as responsibilities of club secretaries, membership empowerment and sustainable club projects. PDRR Francis Castil spoke in the plenary and discussed the positive approach of VUCA.
Socializing is not a skill that everyone posses, and for President-elect Milliezel Ambubuyog she managed to gain a positive experience from the event despite her hesitancy to socialize. “I am having a hard time to socialize with other people, but the most interesting part in joining DISTAS and other district events is that you can grow your connections with your fellow Rotaractors and even with Rotarians. You can also have the opportunity to gain knowledge about leadership, club management and how to produce sustainable projects” she said.
Presently, the Rotaract Club of Malabon Central aims to exposed its members out of their comfort zone and gave the the chance to gain confidence through experiencing executing projects. The club aims to foster fellowship and strong connection with its members —which is a key to a sustainable club project.
