Aligned with Rotary International’s Area of Focus on Disease Prevention and Treatment, the Rotaract Club of Makati and Rotaract Club of Kabataang West Rembo successfully launched Project R3: Rotaract for Red Resistance – HIV Awareness Fair at Palanas B Covered Court, Brgy. Vasra, Quezon City, providing an accessible venue for the local community.

With the partner organizations, SK Chairperson Arvin Caparal, Dr. Cayabyab, Mental Health Trainer, Project Chairpersons: Service Project Chair/ PN, Darlah Marcela S. Leonardo (RAC Makati), Pres. Aldrin Paul Malabana (RAC Kabataang West Rembo)

The event engaged 131 participants, including youth leaders, students, and residents, in an interactive, stigma-free environment. The HIV Info Booth – “The Real Talk Station” offered accurate insights on HIV transmission, prevention, and treatment, while Truth or Trap? HIV Edition challenged participants to separate myths from facts. Attendees expressed solidarity through the Red Ribbon Making Booth and publicly pledged safe practices at the “Pledge for Change” Wall.

Games and discussions further enriched learning. The Wheel of Awareness Trivia Game rewarded participants for correct answers, while the Ask Me Anything Booth allowed confidential conversations with trained advocates and health professionals. A Photowall Station encouraged social media advocacy. Voluntary HIV testing and counseling were availed by 55 participants, and one participant received a contraceptive implant, highlighting the community’s proactive approach to health and reproductive care.

To ensure accurate facilitation, 20 booth masters underwent an HIV 101 seminar, learning prevention strategies and RA 11166 provisions. Guided by stamp cards, attendees completed all booths to earn food packs and raffle prizes, including rice sacks, a portable fan, and SM gift certificates.

Through education, interactive engagement, and voluntary health services, Project R3 empowered participants to make informed decisions, practice safe sexual health, and contribute to a stigma-free, supportive community.
