Hearts for the Earth

On a day traditionally dedicated to celebrating love, two Rotaract Clubs proved that the greatest commitment of all is the one we make to our planet.

The Rotaract Club of Cebu Fuente-University of the Visayas Chapter and the Rotaract Club of Central Surigao gathered at the University of the Visayas Pardo Campus to officially sign a Memorandum of Understanding, formalizing a “Friendship Club” partnership that transcends geographical boundaries on February 14, 2026.

This MOU serves as the foundation for Earth2Youth, a comprehensive three-part environmental initiative designed to transform young volunteers into lifelong stewards of the nature. The ambitious project begins with an educational environmental seminar to build a solid foundation of climate literacy and sustainable awareness among the youth. This knowledge then transitions into immediate, tangible action through an intensive cleanup drive aimed at rehabilitating local ecosystems and managing urban waste.

The final and most enduring stage of the partnership focuses on tree growing, shifting the narrative from simple planting to long-term nurturing to ensure a lasting ecological legacy for both Cebu and Surigao. By choosing to launch this collaboration on Valentine’s Day at the UV Pardo Campus, these student-leaders and community volunteers have sent a powerful message that service is a labor of love. As Earth2Youth rolls out across its three vital phases, it stands as a testament to what can be achieved when regional chapters unite their resources and passion to tackle the most pressing challenge of our generation.
