For the past decade, the Rotaract Club of Metro Bacolod has continued a meaningful tradition that reflects the heart of Rotaract service—Date a Rotaractor, a legacy project rooted in compassion, connection, and community.

The initiative traces its beginnings to Past President Jame Ann, the charter president of the club, together with its pioneering members. What started as a small but sincere effort to bring joy to children from underserved communities soon became a yearly activity carried out with the club’s adopted community, now known as the Rotary Bolinao Child Development Center.

The concept is simple yet deeply impactful. During the celebration of the month of love, Rotaractors spend a day with the children—sharing meals, playing games, and creating joyful moments that allow each child to feel valued and cared for. Each interaction serves as a reminder that love, encouragement, and attention are powerful tools in shaping young lives.

For many of these children, such experiences help build confidence, emotional security, and a sense of belonging—important elements that contribute to healthy development and personal growth. By showing kindness and genuine care, Rotaractors help create positive memories that may inspire hope and self-worth in every child.

Ten years later, Date a Rotaractor continues to stand as a testament to the club’s enduring commitment to service. It reminds us that sometimes the most powerful impact is created not by grand gestures, but by the simple act of showing love where it is needed most.
