Kapit-Tagumpay: Uniting Initiatives for Children’s Continuous Development

The Kapit-Tagumpay initiative, a four-in-one project centered on education, health, and sanitation, provided a meaningful and enriching experience for the 31 kindergarten students of San Jose Elementary School. The project aimed to equip young learners with essential hygiene habits—especially proper handwashing and toothbrushing—while also supplying additional learning materials and useful resources to support their early development.

A joyful photo opportunity with the students and volunteers from partner clubs captured smiles, laughter, and the spirit of teamwork—a memorable moment celebrating learning, community, and friendship.

The event opened with a warm welcome and a comforting morning snack, lugaw, generously sponsored by partners, including members of the 4K Partylist. This simple yet thoughtful meal set the tone for the day, making the children feel cared for and ready for the activities ahead. Hosted by Rtr. Dimple Biscocho, the program featured an inspiring message from President Fernan Garcia of RC Tiaong. Adding excitement to the morning, the Interact Club of AITE led a lively warm-up dance that energized the students and filled the room with smiles.

A hands-on discussion and demonstration on proper handwashing taught students the essential steps to keep their hands clean, showing in a fun and interactive way how soap and water remove germs and help them stay healthy.

The heart of the initiative centered on four major activities:

• Keep Our Hands Clean Together – Led by IVP Kristine Joy Anglo, this activity used a pepper-and-soap experiment to illustrate how soap repels germs, followed by a proper handwashing demonstration to instill good hygiene practice.

• Project Bright Smiles – Headed by ISD Abigail Bundalian, this segment taught students the correct way to brush their teeth and provided each child with their own dental kit to encourage daily oral care.

A fun demonstration on the correct toothbrushing technique allowed students to practice good oral hygiene habits while learning how to keep their teeth clean and healthy every day.

• Project AddLearn – This activity supplied new and engaging educational materials to enhance children’s learning both in the classroom and at home.

• Installation and Handover – The team installed informative tarpaulins and turned over essential hygiene supplies to reinforce consistent learning and healthy habits throughout the school year.

The installation of colorful and informative tarpaulins around the school provided easy-to-follow reminders on handwashing, toothbrushing, and proper hygiene, helping reinforce healthy habits and promoting a positive public image daily.

The program concluded with picture-taking and a heartfelt message of gratitude from the teachers of San Jose Elementary School, celebrating a successful day filled with learning, care, and strong community support.
