With the Rotary Year nearing its end, the Pilipinas Rotaract MDIO has successfully concluded the Groundbreaking and Exemplary Accomplishments of Rotaractors (GEAR) Awards 2024 at the Summer Capital of the Philippines, Baguio City. This annual event recognizes the outstanding achievements of various Rotaract districts, clubs, and individuals. All 10 participating districts were well-represented to celebrate a year of dedication, service, and excellence. This event recognized 733 awards honoring those who have demonstrated exceptional commitment and leadership in their respective fields. The atmosphere was electric, filled with joy and camaraderie, as awardees were celebrated for their hard work and contributions to their communities.

Last May 11, 2024, the Pines View Hotel in Baguio City came alive with the vibrant energy and enthusiasm of the Philippine Rotaract community, as it hosted the much-anticipated GEAR Awards. Members across the ten (10) districts came together to celebrate such a prestigious event, gathering around 180 total participants. Throughout the evening, a total of 733 awards were recognized, of which 110 were exemplary awards.

Among the ten districts present, the Rotaract Clubs of RID 3860 stood out during this year’s awards ceremony. They had the highest attendance and were able to garner nearly 200 awards. A highlight of their awards include having the most number of Paul Harris Fellows and Polio Plus Society members awarded, and having seven (7) of the exemplary district awards.

In summary, the GEAR Awards at Pines View Hotel was a night to remember, a testament to the hard work and passion of Rotaractors across the region. The event not only celebrated past achievements but also set the stage for future endeavors. Congratulations to MDIO Chairperson Richard Jeric Chua for his exceptional leadership for almost two years in service to the Philippine Rotaract Clubs. The event underscored the essence of Rotaract: fostering fellowship and driving positive change in the world. With the baton of leadership passed on and new goals set, the Rotaract community left the event inspired and motivated to continue their mission of service above self.
