Access to primary education and basic health and sanitation needs are two of the most essential things a child must have. Facing the reality that other children cannot access those basic needs, it is a challenge for us to do our part in helping the future of our world. With the initiative of the Rotaractors from the Rotaract Club of Metro Valencia, we were able to cater to the basic needs of the pre-school students of Barangay Mabuhay, Valencia City, Bukidnon.
Project CARES: Children’s Access to Resources for Education and Sanitation, the Rotaract Club of Metro Valencia held its flagship project last October 7, 2023, at Barangay Mabuhay, Valencia City, Bukidnon. The club was able to give 43 health kits and school supplies to the preschool students and was also able to have a feeding activity for the said students.
The activity started with a short kumustahan session with the students and was followed by the school supply distribution. The students, with the help of the Rotaractors, then showed their creativity by drawing the things that were on their minds at the moment. This activity enables the students to express the things they truly want and feel with the touch of creativity.
Project CARES then distributed health kits that would help the students to be clean and healthy. Not only were the kits distributed, Rotaractor Carl Balacano also discussed the importance of health and sanitation and demonstrated the proper hand washing and toothbrushing method to the students. To end the activity, RACMV held a feeding activity for the students.
Children’s smiles bring immense happiness and their expressions of delight and enthusiasm are contagious which motivates every Rotaractor of the Rotaract Club of Metro Valencia to continue serving our community.
