In time with the Rotary’s Membership and Club Development Month this August, Rotaract Club of San Francisco, Agusan del Sur marks a significant milestone. As the New Rotary Year celebration unfolded, a group of passionate individuals embarked on their first service project as official Rotaractors.
Together with the mother club, Rotary Club of San Francisco, they undertook Project KLEAN (Kits and Learning Essentials for a New Generation), a Water Sanitation and Hygiene Project.
The project aimed to make a positive impact by providing essential kits and educational materials to the children of Brgy. Caimpugan, Agusan del Sur. From clean water to educational supplies, the project aimed to foster a nurturing environment that promotes learning and health for the young generation.
The New Rotary Year celebration not only marked an important milestone for the Rotaract Club of San Francisco, Agusan del Sur, but also welcomed a group of dynamic individuals into the Club. These enthusiastic changemakers, with hearts filled with compassion and dedication, officially became part of the RACSF family during the event. Impressions from the New Rotaractors:
Greg Mahinay: “My experience earlier holds an immense significance for me as it marks my first-ever service project as a member of Rotaract San Francisco. Initially, I was worried over the possibility of missing the celebration of the New Rotaract Year, as I had committed myself to another equally important endeavor before the event. Witnessing the children receiving kits, educational materials, and food melted my heart. It was then that I realized my genuine desire to serve my community more.”
Cris Gavino: “Seeing the warm smiles of the children during the Rotary New Year Celebration in Caimpugan, Agusan del Sur, truly melts my heart. As a person who devotes himself wholeheartedly to community service, it was indeed a memorable first service project. No weather can hinder the willingness of the Rotaract Club of San Francisco in serving the community. I look forward to serving my second service project! May it rain or shine.”
Anna Patubo: “I have always imagined a meaningful first-time experience in Rotary. Today, that imagination turned into reality. As we celebrated the new Rotary year at Brgy. Caimpugan, San Francisco, Agusan del Sur, we were greeted with such a warm welcome from the locals there. From the mini program that the teachers held for us, to the distribution of health & school kits to our dear children, all of it was indeed one for the books. With this, I am hoping for more activities because, after all, service above self will always be carried on.”
The event, held in Brgy. Caimpugan, was filled with heartwarming moments as the children received the much-needed support and care from the Rotaract Club of San Francisco. The camaraderie and warmth among the Rotaractors and their fellow volunteers added to the joyous atmosphere, making the day truly memorable.
As these new Rotaractors embark on their journey of service, they carry with them the spirit of Rotary’s motto, “Service Above Self,” knowing that their actions can create a ripple effect of positive change in their community and beyond. They are determined to make every Rotary Year a chapter filled with joy, fulfillment, and success.
