Children’s Day on Rotary New Year

As the new Rotary year dawns upon us, we bid farewell to the marvelous year and embrace the Rotary year of endless possibilities.

The Rotary New Year celebration is a special event organized by Rotary and Rotaract clubs worldwide to welcome the upcoming year with joy, enthusiasm, and a commitment to making a positive impact in the community.

Last July 1, 2023, the Rotaract Club of Makati with its sponsoring club – the Rotary Club of Makati, Rotary Club of Paranaque St. Andrews, Rotary Foundation and other organizations such as Phil Cancer Society, ASSIST and Tonik Bank to welcome the new Rotary through – Rotary Children’s Day held at Rotary Homes Parañaque. A one whole day program birthed by PRIP Mateo Caparas, the first and only Filipino to head Rotary International as president which aims to bring joy and educate children. A part of this project is under one of Rotary’s seven areas of focus: Basic Education and Literacy.

Interactive activities were presented to the kids to learn good money habits

RAC Makati stepped up the commitment to serve and educate the young generation on basic education and financial literacy. This initiative seeks to empower children with essential knowledge and skills that will pave the way in the future through interactive and engaging projects – Kaching Kaching and EskweLAKBAY. Project Kaching Kaching is a fun financial literacy activity for kids teaching them good money habits through interactive activities. On the other hand, Project EskweLAKBAY used the Marungko approach in the reading session.

The Rotary New Year celebration serves as a unique platform to educate and empower children through basic education and financial literacy. By combining celebration and education, Rotary and Rotaract clubs are making a tangible difference in the lives of young individuals.
