Every tree starts with a seed. Once it grows, it can grow fruits that can be shared with everyone. Just like a tree, we can also provide something beneficial to people around us. One way to do so is to share knowledge. And the better way to share knowledge is through donating pre-loved books!

RAC QC meets the Quezon City library team to discuss the project and propose its plans.

Rotaract Club of Quezon City (RAC QC) has launched a project called “Paperback Giveback and More: Libro Mo, Kinabukasan Ko.” The project came into fruition last March 31, 2022. This project aims to spread knowledge through the donation of pre-loved books. These books were given to Quezon City Library Roxas Branch, a public library accessible to everyone.

According to Life-changing President Margarita Estalilla, RAC QC decided to plant the project on the ground because it is in line with the club’s main advocacy, which is Basic Education and Literacy. She added, “Our end goal is to contribute as many books as we can to help the library reach its goal: One book for each citizen of Quezon City.”

RAC QC meets the people of bXTRA Philippines and Trash-to-Cash to propose its project idea and how to incorporate it with eco-centers.

In partnership with Basic Environmental Systems & Technologies, Inc., bXTRA Philippines, and Rotaract Club District 3780, RAC QC also aspires to be practical. Instead of buying more books, the club asked its partners for more reading materials, which came from their shelves.

So far, this project launched two drop-off points: Quezon City Hall Park and Lagoon, and National Ecology Center located at East Avenue, Quezon City. RAC QC plans to open more drop-off points so everyone could take part and donate.

RAC QC is looking forward to bridging other book donations to the QC Library! If you have any queries regarding this project, feel free to contact its Facebook page, Rotaract Club of Quezon City.
