New year means new opportunities to venture and new communities to serve.
As we welcome the year, we are also giving importance to this month’s theme:
Vocational Service Month.
This month gives our Rotaractors and Interactors the chance to learn new things, implement innovative projects, and alleviate lives. It will highlight the importance of the business and professional life of each leader, as well as to showcase activities which promote the vocational avenue of service.
Some of the activities included the distribution of Four-way Test, Vocational Awards to outstanding individuals, Arrange Vocational Visits, Awareness seminar on career guidance, Start Vocational Education / Skill Guidance Center and Helping Physically Challenged people to gets jobs.
During this month, we are encouraging all clubs to conduct trainings which have contributions on their vocational talents to solving the problems of society and meeting the needs of the community.
Discussions on vocational service can lead to projects that not only develop the ethical consciousness and vocational skills of the members but also the talents within their communities.
Vocational Service Month is an opportunity to begin long-term vocational service activities and even expand members’ awareness, solicit their input in planning projects for the remainder of the year.
Rotaract Clubs can also think of unique projects with focus on developing character, providing career information to youth, mentoring small businesses, or organizing workshops that provide employees with new skills.
And as we are nearing the end of the Rotary Year, we are also encouraging our clubs to value their members and involved them in various community service projects. It’s good that while we are rendering services to the people, we are also learning the essence of giving especially in this time of pandemic.
