Editor’s Note for June

By Elyrose Naorbe | Posted on June 18, 2021

June marks the peak of a year’s worth of hard work and efforts from our Rotaractors and Interactors.

We got the privilege to transform lives of people in the community, even amid the threat of COVID-19. This Rotary Year, clubs have proven that service is more fun when it is coupled with willingness and all-out support coming from members who are miles apart.

From the start of the Transform Year and now that it is coming to a close, the untiring service rendered by the clubs is overwhelming. We got the needed support that enabled us to look back on a year of service with great satisfaction. Rotaractors have shown innovative ways of serving the community and I could say that they are really the future of Rotary – the future Rotarians who will continue the legacy of “Service Above Self”.

This year really reminded us to master the art of serving while learning the beauty of giving. Let us promote awareness through spreading the good act of kindness. But always remember that while giving is better than receiving, we should keep in mind that we exist not only to help but to also encourage each and every individual to do their part in uplifting their lives towards becoming better citizens of this country.

The Rotary Year may end this month, but let’s all thank the people who supported us in achieving success and encourage them to still extend their hands as the long years of service continue. We need to assure that what we’ve started during the Transform Year will be continued this new Rotary Year (RY) by making a great difference in the lives of the people in the community.

The pandemic is still giving us a hard time, but let’s work hand in hand to give our best service to the people who need our help. And just like how we transformed lives this RY, let us still make a change in the community.

Salute to all the hard working Rotaractors in the Philippines. Continue to inspire people and as we culminate the success of this RY, let us be thankful that we are still alive and able to do selfless service for the community.
