Since 2019, the Rotaract Club of San Jose del Monte has been creating impactful outreach programs to Indigenous people in different parts of the country. The club’s long-standing mission to uplift IP continued last December, just in time for the season of giving.

The club, led by President and Project Chair Ralph Santiago, partnered up with the Rotaract Club of Metro Sorsogon on December 14, 2025, in carrying out the project “Kasama Ka, Kasama Sila: Handog Pag-Asa Para sa mga Agta Year 7” in Brgy. Bulawan, Prieto Diaz, Sorsogon. The successful project brought smiles to 137 indigenous students from daycare to grade 6.

Dentistry student Trisha Mae Espigol provided the children with hygiene education focused on effective dental care and proper handwashing necessary for optimal health. Not only did they learn important health practices, but they also received school supplies, bags, and slippers, equipping them with tools for their education and confidence to step into their schools.

Indeed, giving is more heartfelt when done with compassion. And this joint project proved that acts of kindness, when combined, can make a big difference not just to the community they are serving but also to the perspective of those who are helping.
