What happens after the applause fades and the convention halls grow quiet?
Every convention tells stories—but some stories continue long after the closing program. The Pilipinas Rotaract Convention (ProCon) in Iloilo became more than a gathering of youth leaders; it became the starting point of meaningful action, inspiration, and collaboration that extended beyond the conference halls and into the heart of the community.

Following the convention, Rotaractors from across the Philippines united for a Rotaract Day of Service in Barangay Ortiz, Iloilo. Spearheaded by the Rotaract Club of Quezon City MediaTech and supported by 19 Rotaract Clubs from different parts of the Philippines, the initiative transformed fellowship formed during ProCon into tangible community impact. What began as conversations between delegates during the convention evolved into a collaborative service initiative that demonstrated the power of youth leadership working together for a shared purpose.
The single-day initiative delivered four integrated projects designed to address key community needs: Project Matuto, Aklatang Bayan, CYBERTEACH, and Project We Smiles. Together, these programs reflected Rotaract’s commitment to service, leadership, and sustainable community development.
Through Project Matuto, Rotaractors conducted engaging tutoring sessions for 20 children aged 3–5 in Barangay Ortiz. The activity aimed to nurture curiosity and strengthen early literacy by creating a supportive environment where children could learn through storytelling and guided activities. Complementing this effort was Aklatang Bayan, a book donation initiative that provided learning materials to establish a small community learning hub. By increasing access to books, the project encouraged children to explore reading and develop a lifelong love for learning.

To ensure that the impact of the initiative continues, the Rotaract Club of PHINMA University of Iloilo partnered as the local steward of the donated learning materials. Through their support, the books provided through Aklatang Bayan will continue to be used by young learners in the community, allowing the spirit of the project to live on long after the event.
Recognizing the importance of digital awareness in today’s world, CYBERTEACH introduced children to responsible online behavior through storytelling using the educational book Ang Mahusay Online. This session helped young learners understand how to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly, building awareness at an early age about technology and its role in their daily lives.

Meanwhile, Project We Smiles focused on health and well-being by distributing 20 hygiene kits containing toothbrushes and toothpaste. Rotaractors also conducted an interactive hygiene seminar that demonstrated proper toothbrushing techniques. The activity emphasized the importance of personal hygiene and encouraged children to adopt healthy habits that support long-term wellness.
Behind the success of the project were at least 70 dedicated volunteers who worked both on-site and behind the scenes to bring the initiative to life. Their collaboration highlighted how Rotaractors from different regions, backgrounds, and clubs could come together to create meaningful impact when united by service.
The day before the service project, Rotaractors gathered for fellowship at El Capitan Café in the Grand Xing Imperial Hotel, Iloilo City. What started as introductions quickly turned into conversations, laughter, and the exchange of ideas. Rotaractors shared stories about their clubs, their communities, and the projects that inspire them to serve. In that moment, it became clear that ProCon was not just about attending sessions or representing districts—it was about building genuine connections with fellow leaders who share the same passion for service.

With heartfelt gratitude, the Rotaract Club of Quezon City MediaTech extends their appreciation to the Rotaract Clubs of Antipolo, Arellano University, Barasoain, Calumpit, Cavinti, Changebringers, Daet, Makati, Malabon Highlands, Malabon Pioneer, Mandaluyong North, Mandaluyong Premier, Millennial Sampaguita Grace Park, PHINMA University of Iloilo, San Jose Del Monte, Sta. Mesa, Tacloban, Valenzuela Legacy, and Valenzuela Premier for their generosity, partnership, and shared commitment to service.
The Rotaract Day of Service in Iloilo stands as a testament to the spirit of ProCon: inspiration that leads to action, connections that grow into partnerships, and leadership that manifests through service. Because while conventions may last only a few days, the impact of service, the strength of collaboration, and the stories they create have the power to endure—shaping communities and inspiring change long after the final session ends.
