Healing Hands, Healing Minds: Building a Healthier and Happier Community”: Rotary and Rotaract Club’s Medical Mission Remaining True To Its Title

The medical mission with mental health symposium organized by the Rotaract Club of La Paz and the Rotary Club of La Paz stays true to its name as not only was it productive, but as it has managed to be effective at the Brgy. Sinkway Covered Gym at Lapuz, Iloilo City, through volunteerism and partnerships with the Iloilo City Gocernment, Department of Health Region VI, Global Iloilo Summit – Eagles Club, Family Planning Organization of the Philippines (FPOP) Iloilo Chapter, Rajah kag Diwata (RKD) Iloilo, and Share Love Charities, Inc. on November 26, 2025.

Life places heavy burdens on many shoulders, and sometimes even a bag of help, as heavy as that burden, is enough to ease them.
The patience of those waiting is mirrored by the patience of those who serve.

Catering around 350-400 benefeciaries for the mission, a majority have received prescriptions and 200 of the participants have received medication as doctors and officials took the initiative to provide service for the people of the aforementioned community. The members of the Rotaract and Rotary Club of La Paz-both the youth and mature sector—took the initiaive to assist and partake during the medical mission During that time, many people falling under varying age ranges were present and took the time to avail the different services from the medical mission; services such as HIV testing, free ECG, bone screening, and dental checkups were given.

Listening is a skill learned by those who are willing.
Behind machines are still people who make assistance possible.
Being there, showing up, and doing what one can still counts—even when it was never expected of them.

Other than the services, a symposium on mental health, dental health, and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) have also been given to the benefeciaries of Medical Mission with Health Symposium: “Healing Hands, Healing Minds: Building a Healthier and Happier Community”. In line with the advocacy to offer service above self, the Rotary and Rotaract Club of La Paz along side their partners have ensured to be one in addressing health issues and prevention of acquisition.

The youth is never too young to serve.
To serve above self is to place another’s needs above your own comfort.

A big part of prevention is intervention. Indeed, the Rotary Club of La Paz and Rotaract Club of La Paz from Region VI resonate with such value as they have worked hand-in-hand to effectuate causes for the people and what amplifies the greater good for the community.
