Rotaract’s Vital Role in The Rotary Foundation

By Karl Angelo Robles | Posted on November 23, 2025

For more than a century, TRF has been the charitable heart of RI, taking generous gifts from Rotarians and turning them into practical, long-lasting solutions within its seven core Areas of Focus. But the world does not stand still, and neither can the Foundation’s strategy.

And this is the role that Rotaract plays. Their input to TRF is significant; it touches on all aspects, as they help raise funds, create buzz through advocacy, and, most importantly, are right there on the scene, getting their hands dirty and carrying out these life-transforming projects. The new generation of service leaders is showing that when genuine enthusiasm is combined with good training, remarkable things can be done in the field of humanitarian assistance worldwide.

Project Talim: Targeted Aid for Lifesaving and Inclusive Medicine is an initiative during the Rotary Year 2023-2024, spearheaded by IPDRR Jake Villablanca and his team, and took place on March 30, 2025, at Janosa National High School, Binangonan, Rizal, which was a grant-funded event.

Rotaract is not just a stepping stone for Rotary; it is, in fact, the nursery for the future leadership of TRF. And while Rotary confidently allows them to handle grants, cultivates their innovative ideas, and backs their advocacy efforts, the organization is actually guaranteeing that its humanitarian mission, which the Foundation finances, will not only survive but also prosper in the future.

By using the contagious enthusiasm of Rotaract effectively through the structure of the Seven Areas of Focus, the Rotary Foundation can do two essential things: to carry out projects with a significant impact at once and to make sure that its mission is going to be supported and advocated by a new generation of leaders who are experienced, ethical, and full of passion tomorrow.
