Bake-It Biscuits: Sweet Treats, Polio Beat!

By Jaira Sales | Posted on November 7, 2025

Every sweet bite can make a powerful difference—and last October 25, our club proudly proved just that through the “Bake-It Biscuits: Sweet Treats, Polio Beat!” fundraising project. In support of Rotary International’s global initiative to end polio, our members turned compassion into cookies as we baked and sold homemade treats to raise funds for the End Polio Now campaign.

Community support makes a global impact possible.

From early morning preparations to the final delivery of cookies, the project was powered by teamwork, service, and a shared purpose. Rotaractors eagerly went around the community—visiting homes, connecting with families, engaging passersby, and warmly explaining the deeper meaning behind each sweet purchase. What looked like a simple snack brought joy to supporters while also helping protect children in the world’s most vulnerable places.

Freshly baked treats that help protect children everywhere.

Each cookie sold became a symbol of hope. People from all walks of life—parents, youth, neighbors, and even local vendors—expressed delight in contributing to a cause that continues to save lives. Even the smallest donations became heroic actions, supporting vaccination efforts that shield children from a disease that once took millions of lives and still threatens those without access to proper healthcare.

Together, we rise against polio, one cookie at a time.

The project also served as a meaningful educational moment. Through conversations and shared stories, more people became aware that polio is not yet fully eradicated. Although cases have dramatically decreased by over 99% worldwide, the fight is not over until every child is safe. By spreading awareness, Rotaractors helped strengthen community support for continued immunization efforts.

But beyond fundraising and advocacy, Bake-It Biscuits reflected the true spirit of Rotaract. It strengthened friendships within the club, inspired leadership among volunteers, and reminded everyone that making a positive impact doesn’t always require grand gestures—sometimes, it begins in a kitchen, with flour, sugar, and a heart willing to serve.

Rotaractors on a mission: spreading sweetness and awareness.

Thanks to the generosity of our community, the funds collected will directly support Rotary’s global campaign to eradicate polio once and for all. Every peso raised is a step closer to a future where no child suffers or loses their potential to a preventable disease.

Because to us, every cookie counts—and every child deserves a world free from polio.

Together, we bake. Together, we beat polio.
