When Service Feels Like Coming Home

“Salamat po sa lahat ng itinuro n’yo at sa inspirasyong ibinigay… Balik kayo ulit ha, kasi parang pamilya na rin kayo sa amin. Sana, paglaki ko, makatulong din ako sa iba gaya ninyo.”

A young child whispered these words in San Luis, Batangas, and they have lingered ever since—not just as a thank you, but as a reminder of why AetaRAC Magsama-sama! was born.

What began in 2022 as a simple outreach of the Rotaract Club of Batangas Metro Pioneers has grown into something far deeper: a homecoming. Every visit feels less like an act of service and more like returning to family—where projects turn into shared meals, and shared meals turn into laughter, stories, and hope.

This year, that spirit of homecoming multiplied as Batangas organizations, driven by a deep passion for service, joined in. Project HINAW taught young ones how health begins with small, daily habits. Pinggang Pinoy filled hungry stomachs with nourishing meals. Munting Pag-asa Para sa mga Aeta lifted hearts with dreams for tomorrow. And in time for National Indigenous Peoples Day, culture came alive in colors and rhythm through PintaRAC at Mag-ipon, RACsayaw at Magsama-sama!, and LitRACto. Each initiative, no matter how different, carried the same pulse: unity.

But perhaps the truest legacy of AetaRAC is not found in the activities themselves, but in the sparks they leave behind. Like the child who said she hopes one day to help others the way she was helped. Her dream is not just hers—it is the heartbeat of this project: to serve, to inspire, and to nurture a cycle of kindness that will outlive us all.

For us, AetaRAC Magsama-sama! is not just a project. It is family. And every homecoming is only the beginning.
